L1: Follow-up of Day 3, Brush Your Teeth Before Shower
Day 3 got started early. I woke up 4:50 which gave me time to stretch before running. It was time to take an easy 30 minute run. Due to my early wakening, it was still dark outside and a bit colder (12 C) than usual, but I wore my usual running gear (shorts, long sleeve shirt). That was a good choice
As long as you keep running, you won’t get cold.
The run went as planned. I kept my average HR at 127 and consumed 355 kcal.
That’s enough about todays traininig, here’s the fun stuff:
- I know a rooster which doesn’t know the clock. There’s a house about 200 m away from my home and they have a rooster. Today intentionally ran beside their house just to hear the rooster. I’ve heard it before during my 6 o’clock runs, but this time I was 45 minutes earlier and it was still dark. Would I hear it? I was full of excitement when running down the hill to the house and the rooster didn’t let me down
Obviously it doesn’t pay attention to the clock the same way they do in comics… I was able to record the rooster with my E65, you can listen to “the man” by clicking the button below. (UPDATE: I had problems converting the .amr file to MP3, so you’ll have to wait for the treat
) - With tape you can fix anything, like an electric cabin. Seeing is believing…

- Brush your teeth before shower. I have a bus to catch in the morning, so after my runs I gotta move. My post-run ritual includes washing the heart rate monitor’s transmitter and shower (this was taught to me in the army: equipment first, then the people
). During the summer time the shower doesn’t help that much, since I start sweating right after the shower. I’ve tried cold water, but it doesn’t help that much. This morning I had a great idea: if I wash my teeth before the shower I get about two minutes more for cooling down. Now I know this sounds ridiculous, but I try to use every minute in the morning
The thing is that it worked! I’m sitting now in the bus feeling (and smelling) fresh. Little things, big improvements…
