It's been several years since I read the book but I really enjoyed it. Since I'm a competitve cyclist myself I already understood a lot of the tactics and politics.

I knew who Lance was before he got cancer. In fact I was working with a girl that was dating Lance's coach, Chris Carmichael. They later got married. She was from Texas and was a fan of Lance. We used to argue at work about Lance. I couldn't stand his arrogance. He mellowed out after cancer and learned to work with his team or he would never have won the Tour. I still never liked him although he was a great athlete.

Unfortunately I think most of the top athletes both in cycling and other sports are doping. They're just one step ahead of the anti-doping agencies. The anti-doping agencies and labs are corrupt too.
