L13-L14: What Else Could I Say?

OK, the last two weeks have been rough and I ended exercising only once (!) during that period. First I got sick, then my kids got sick and then I got sick again. In the between we have visited our parents and gone to some parties, so even the last changes for training have been washed up by a busy schedule and zero energy. So what else could I say? Darn?

I wrote a while ago that I’m going to stay away from 1-Hour Workoutweeks, but as always there are situation in which you just have to skip training. I don’t train if I’m sick and I have prioritized seeing my parents higher than my workouts, so I ended up training even less than 1 hour a week :)

But situations always change and I can feel myself getting better now. I got the flu twice, so maybe I’m fortunate and don’t get it for the third time. At the moment I’m in the bus going back from work. The company I work for has organised a badminton event near my home for today, so I’m just going to change my clothes and head to the event. There’s a guy teaching the basics and strategy of badminton, so I’m looking forward learning something new. If there’s good advice, I’ll post it here also.

The posting frequency (as my online presence) has been low lately. I have been working hard on a WordPress plugin which I’m going to release soon, so there hasn’t been much extra time for blogging and socializing. But I think that’s going to change also for the better quite soon.

L12: The Good, The Bad And The Hungry

Dejavu is the word in my head. Last week I only trained 1 time as I did the week before. The reason is the same, I’m still fighting against flu and cough. It’s amazing when these epidemics storm across Finland that I always manage to get them. I read somewhere that due to my blood type AB my immunity system is “open for everything”, so I think that’s part of the truth. Anyways, being sick sucks - deeply.

So I did my usual workout last Tuesday in the gym. After that my flu got worse, so I skipped training. This week looks the same, I think I’ll get back to gym next week. In the meantime I have been enjoying chips, beer, chocolate, candy, beef, wine, burgers, pizza, lasagna and mud cakes! Boy, there’s still a lot to learn :) Father’s Day was a good excuse to over-eat and of course on Monday I ate the leftovers!

Can’t wait to get back to the gym!

L11: The 1-Hour Workoutweek

Have you read the book ‘The 4-hour workweek‘ by Tim Ferriss? Well, I got something similar over here. It’s called ‘The 1-Hour Workoutweek’. Tim’s idea is to spend as little time working as possible and do the fun stuff instead. I wish I could tell you my system is just the same, but there’s a tiny difference… Tim’s system is about maximising the fun, but unfortunately 1-Hour Workoutweek makes you feel … umm, not sad but semi-fun.
